Security educator celebrates

Mice has opened a new e-learning portal to mark its 10-year anniversary, reports Transworldnews.

Titled, Mice Training and Education, it offers computer security education, consisting of a trio of courses aimed at ensuring users achieve a basic to intermediate understanding of computer security and identity theft issues.

Mice claims that last year a staggering 21% of malware attacks were unleashed with no known anti-virus protection, and that one-fifth of the time, users were 100% vulnerable.

Farmers get online degree

Sri Lanka's University of Colombo is starting an online agro technology degree program for rural farmers, reports Lankabusinessonline.

The university had started a pilot program in the village of Weligatte in Hambantota in the deep south of the island, teaching farmers tissue culture, agro technology, farm management techniques and marketing.

The university will start a certificate level course leading to a diploma and eventually a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree.

ExecuTrain expands online training
