Channel distributors have partnered with gotalk to unveil its SME multi-line VOIP service which combines a standard PBX telephone system with broadband internet, according to CRN Australia.

CEO Steve Picton says: "We are currently facilitating compatibility testing of various business-grade VOIP solutions with a number of system integrators and VARs, so that number will obviously increase over coming days and weeks.

"Resellers seem to agree with us that there is a significant small business market segment, using four trunk lines and upwards, who will find the cost savings offered by gotalk's Multi Line VOIP PBX very attractive indeed,” he adds.

Alisoft aids SMEs in China

Alisoft, a wholly owned subsidiary of Alibaba Group, will offer free Internet-based management software to all 42 million SMEs in China as part of the group's ongoing effort to make it easy for SMEs to do business using e-commerce, according to Alibaba.com.

The software, called Shopkeeper, comprises an accounting and finance module in the initial edition, with an inventory management and a customer relations management module that will both be available in May.

Shopkeeper will be free to SME users for at least three years and apart from the free software licence, Alisoft will provide free upgrades, training and customer support for all users.

Thai SMEs leverage IT

A new generation of SMEs in Thailand admitted that IT solutions from IBM help make business management easy, saves costs and allows for fast-growing, according to The Nation.

IBM announced its plan to further penetrate the market in its full capacity and gain access to its SME prospects all over the country after its success from the 'Mobile Office Express' roadshow delivered fast, affordable, simple solutions to upcountry last year.

Parnsiree Amatayakul, territory executive, general business, IBM Thailand says, "The continuous growth of SMEs amid the economical challenge these days is a critical factor of the national economy”.
