Arrow Electronics names CEO

Arrow Electronics has appointed Michael Long as the company's chief executive officer, says RTT News.

Long succeeds William Mitchell, who has served as CEO since March 2003. Mitchell will serve as executive chairman through 31 December 2009.

The company noted that Long has served as its president, chief operating officer, and director since March last year.

Kershner gets new president

Kershner Trading Group, a proprietary trading and technology firm, revealed that John Miller has been hired to oversee the expansion of Insight Trading and Technology, a business that Kershner acquired in 2007, reports Earth Times.

Kershner decided to acquire the company to preserve its use internally among its hundreds of proprietary traders as well as look at ways to develop products and services for the financial services industry.

Andy Kershner, the founder and CEO of Kershner, says: “John has created success after success throughout his career. We needed someone who had all the skills necessary to develop products and services around this trading technology. We are excited to add a leader of John's calibre to the team.”

Mitrionics appoints scientific advisor

Dietrich Stephan is to spearhead hybrid computing server manufacturer Mitrionics' scientific advisory board, says OfficialWire.

Magnus Hjern, president and CEO of Mitrionics says: “Dr Stephan will be a valuable member of the team by helping our products remain on the cutting edge of genome and bioinformatics applications.”

Stephan is the co-founder and chief science officer for Navigenics, a personalised genomics company based in California.
