Red Hat expands JBoss Drools

JBoss Drools 5.0 adds several new features, such as workflow, constraint programming, and event programming, all of which significantly boost its usefulness as a decision management toolkit, states Yahoo Tech.

However, it lacks support for common mechanisms for enterprise integration, such as JCA, WS-, or JMS, as well as a strategy for SOA, such as registering rules as services.

Red Hat's JBoss Drools 5.0, and its commercial counterpart, JBoss Enterprise BRMS 5.0, is a suite of applications that Red Hat refers to as a business logic integration platform.

GRM EDM adds VisualVault

GRM EDM, a division of GRM Information Management Services, has released the latest version of its suite of electronic document management solutions, VisualVault, reports ECM Connection.

VisualVault from Auersoft delivers document management, electronic forms, workflow, and compliance features along with complete scanning, fax and e-mail integration.

Utilising a world-class data centre, this solution is offered as a software-as-a-service application.

OpenSpan releases desktop solution

OpenSpan, a business user productivity software provider, has introduced OpenSpan Events, a real-time, lightweight service that passively and securely collects previously inaccessible user events from desktop and other legacy applications, says CRM Today.

OpenSpan Events enables organisations to generate real-time compliance alerts and notifications, interface with enterprise BPM and BAM systems, and perform detailed user and process performance analytics with standard business intelligence and reporting tools.

As a result, organisations can improve business performance and reduce costs by increasing visibility and control over user-driven business processes.
