ITWeb has announced the nominees for the BPM Excellence Awards, being presented on 25 August at Montecasino in Johannesburg.

The awards, offered in partnership with the BPTGroup, are designed to celebrate the achievements leading the way in business process management implementation in SA.

To identify and assess the entries, ITWeb assembled a group of independent experts to represent the judging panel. They decided on a shortlist of six entries including Glacier Financial Services, Zurich SA/Ovations, Medihelp (MediChron Department), Nedbank Personal Loans, Vodacom and PruHealth.

The judges looked for innovative BPM projects or processes that demonstrate a successful solution to a problem and a significant advance for the industry.

According to ITWeb: “The awards represent a unique opportunity for industry innovators to be recognised. They also provide a showcase for the most successful implementations, highlighting the importance of BPM by celebrating its application across a range of categories.

“One of the six shortlisted entries will be selected for the Grand Prix Award for overall excellence in BPM and two other entries will be given a BPM Excellence Award,” says ITWeb.

ITWeb's BPM Summit & Awards

More information about the ITWeb BPM Summit & Awards, which takes place on 25 to 27 August 2009 at Montecasino, Fourways, is available online here.

The Grand Prix Award represents the highest accolade given at the awards and recognises overall achievement in a BPM implementation. The award is sponsored by K2.

The BPM Excellence Awards, sponsored by IBM and Metastorm, will be given to two other entries which also demonstrated a successful implementation and significant business impact. The success of the project will be measured in relation to strategy, project execution, business impact and innovation, ITWeb explains.

The inaugural BPM Summit and Excellence Awards will take place during a two-day conference from 25 to 27 August, which will feature 24 BPM professionals and 13 case studies. There will also be BPM post-conference workshops on 27 August which are designed to be smaller, more informal and interactive.
