ProScan Systems, sole distributor for Intermec products in southern Africa, has announced the launch of an integrated family of new Intermec automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) products.
Each new device offers users advanced levels of ruggedness, performance and ergonomics, while together they form the most complete range of AIDC products ever available. The new line-up utilises a common open systems platform for rapid application development and ease of migration and is based on the latest Microsoft Windows software including Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PC and CE.NET.
The new range incorporates common architecture and offers the latest AIDC technologies including imaging, wireless printing and communication via Bluetooth, GPRS and 802.11b/g for real-time, mobile data acquisition.
The new Intermec line-up comprises the CT60 pen tablet mobile computer, the CV60 vehicle mount terminal, the CK30 handheld terminal, the PF4i industrial printer and the CK1 entry-level handheld terminal. All the new products have been specifically designed to give a quality look and feel that makes them attractive to the user and comfortable for extended use.
"This is a new generation of automatic data capture products that will set the standards for industrial, retail and transport and logistics applications for the foreseeable future," said Andrew Fosbrook, Managing Director of ProScan, a leader in barcoding, data automation, wireless networking and mobile technologies. "These devices combine cutting edge technical performance and advanced ergonomics with common, fully scaleable open systems architecture for rapid systems integration, lower cost of ownership and swift return on investment."
The entry-level CK1 terminal is designed primarily for retail and light industrial applications where users want cost-effective automatic data capture from a compact hand held device. Bluetooth connectivity is a further option.
The CK30 is the first in a new family of advanced, ergonomic RF handheld terminals from Intermec. It is available in a wide range of options including Bluetooth, Wireless (802.11b) and Batch variants with mono or full colour screen and 42, 50 or 52-key alphanumeric keypads.
The EasyCoder PM4i barcode printer is a network-ready, smart printer capable of operating with or without a computer. The printer`s EasyLAN Wireless option uses an integral 802.11b radio with 128-bit WEP encryption for secure printing in all environments.
The Intermec CT60, which operates Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, is a new rugged tablet personal computer that brings the ease of use of a pen tablet PC to mobile workers. The new CV60 vehicle mount terminal is an easy-to-use ultra-rugged touch-screen PC terminal with secure 802.11b connectivity designed for use on in-premise vehicles.
