Local value-added distributor, Annex Distribution, has secured the rights to distribute projectors from BenQ, international vendor of digital lifestyle products and among the top three projector vendors for digital light processing (DLP) technology worldwide.
The chief reason behind BenQ`s decision to partner with Annex Distribution is to establish a more effective presence within the SVGA and XGA segment of the projector market and continue to leverage off its strong grip on the higher-end performance segment.
"Annex is one of the largest IT distributors with pervasive reach in all the major cities in SA. We are eager to build our presence across different channel segments, including the IT channel, power retailers and serve all the customer classes and, in Annex, we have a focused and experienced partner to cater to the IT channel, power retailers, corporate and education sectors," says Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa.
According to Bakshi, the projector business is growing and DLP projectors` share has experienced significant growth in the past few years.
"It is always good to gain a foothold and strengthen the roots during the growth phase so as to reap rewards in future. BenQ is among top three players in projector business worldwide especially in DLP Projector segment. Annex is one of the large IT distributors in SA. BenQ teaming up with Annex will ensure greater leverage of each other`s capabilities. Strategy is simple: we know business, we have laid foundation, we need to penetrate and establish presence all across to ramp up the numbers," adds Bakshi.
Bill Gradwell, general manager at Annex Distribution, says the deal is a major boost for the company, one that strengthens its position and offering within the local market.
