Egis Software and Adobe have partnered to distribute Adobe`s Intelligent Document Platform (IDP) in the African and Indian Ocean Isles Territory regions.

Egis MD Alon Feldman says the solution is being marketed through Egis Distribution, a company specifically set up for the venture. He says the two organisations have been working on the marketing deal for the past 18 months.

Feldman adds that Egis is the sole distributor of Adobe`s IDP products in SA.

Troy Ferraris, Egis chief technical officer, highlights the current trend in the IT and business sectors, where companies and organisations are implementing their own document management solutions, and are typically saving their archived forms and documents electronically.

Adobe IDP`s new server products - Adobe Document Server and Adobe Document Server for Reader Extensions - allow companies to integrate enterprise applications with document workflows throughout an organisation.

"It controls when and who has access to information, through authorisation restrictions, thus protecting the intellectual property of an organisation," he said.
