Gigabyte Technology, together with South African distributor Rectron, has introduced South African users to the GA-8I945P-G-RH, the company`s first Green Computing motherboard solution.
The RoHS (Restrictions of Hazardous Substances) designed motherboard constrains the use of certain substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium and other hazardous substances in electronic products.
"The motherboard is EU compliant and further strengthens the company`s Gigabyte Cares initiative, that as a member of the global community, aims to proactively look after the environment," says Michael Hann, Gigabyte product manager at Rectron.
As a new member of the Gigabyte product line, the GA-8I945P-G-RH has an i-DNA (Intelligent Dual Nano Architecture) series motherboard and features a new Intel 945P Express chipset, designed with one of the industry`s most advanced performance and security technologies.
The GA-8I945P-G-RH provides a broad range of peripheral connections by offering high speed Serial ATA for connection of storage devices, and USB 2.0 for high-speed data transfer.
Additionally the motherboard offers multimedia advancements through PCI-Express X16 interface for outstanding graphics performance, doubling that of the current AGP8X interface.
Gigabit LAN provides LAN connection at a network connection speed of up to 1 000Mbps for improved networking, along with top-notch hardware such as Shieldware.
