Epson unveils SpectroProofer

Johannesburg, 14 Apr 2009

Epson has rolled out its 24-inch Stylus Pro 7900 and 44-inch Stylus Pro 9900, available with the option of Epson's SpectroProofer tool, free of charge.

The promotion is available from April until the end of June this year. According to Epson, the promotion will lower the overall investment for its customers.

Albert Fayard, GM of Epson SA, says: “The Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 offer our customers the latest innovations in professional imaging. The new SpectroProofer promotion allows our channel partners to offer the accurate automation of virtually any colour management process at no additional cost.”

The SpectroProofer tool is a consistent proof verification and printer calibration solution that offers automatic colour calibration, colour certification, a daily colour check, profile creation, spot colour matching, colour shift tracking and target measurement, Epson says.

The Epson SpectroProofer is powered by an X-Rite spectrophotometer. It's available with or without a UV-cut filter as well as changeable black or white backing.

The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 utilise Epson UltraChrome HDR ink, which delivers a wide range of colours. According to Epson, the ink works seamlessly with the MicroPiezo TFP print head to deliver spherical dots at increased print speeds to ensure the highest possible image quality.
