Four SA mobile gamers have left for Singapore to take part in the first mobile tournament in the annual World Cyber Games (WCG).

The four and their team manager left SA last night, sponsored by Exactmobile and First National Bank (FNB).

"The four gamers, together with a team manager, fly to Singapore with their national colours and will represent SA across four games in the first mobile competition to be held at the WCG," says Davin Mole, Exactmobile CEO.

The team consists of Werner De Lange (36), representing SA in the Goolie competition; Ethen Reuben (27) playing in Mid Town Madness; Christo Janse Van Vuuren (23) competing in the Bruce Lee game and Tammy Brook-Smith (15), who will take part in the Chopper Rescue game.

This mobile competition will be run as a stand-alone event at the WCG and will take place between Thursday 17 November and Sunday 20 November.

The SA team will stay in the players` village along with 44 players from 10 other countries and will compete for prize money totalling US$12 000 (R81 000) and the position of best gamer at the first mobile tournament in WCG history, says Mole.

About 800 gamers from over 70 countries are expected to participate at the WCG Grand Final in Singapore.
