Serverless document system released

Ricoh has released the GlobalScan Serverless (GSS), which is able to fit into any customer environment, from a small-to-medium business to the most demanding large enterprise environments, reports ComplianceHome.

The GSS presents new capabilities, such as an improved user interface and enhanced features in the digital office.

In addition, when paired with a Ricoh MFP, users can utilise the one-touch command buttons to scan documents, which will be routed to multiple locations, including networked folders, home folders, fax machines, and e-mail inboxes.

Real-time operating system for multiprocessor designs

Toppers-Pro Multi/FDMP has been released by Altera Japan. It is a real-time operating system that provides multiprocessor support for Altera's Nios II embedded processor, reports SYS-CON.

Targeted at a wide variety of applications in the digital consumer, office equipment and automotive markets, this embedded solution addresses the performance, power consumption and noise-emission requirements of today's advanced systems.

"We expect that the support of Toppers-Pro Multi/FDMP for Nios II embedded processors will further fuel their adoption in the embedded market," said Danny Biran, VP of product and corporate marketing, Altera.

Version One, Sage partner for paperless office

Sage Software has partnered with document management and imaging company Version One to deliver 'paperless office' technology to Innov8's 500 Sage 200, Sage Line 100, MMS and 'Inn' customers, reports TMC Net.

This new agreement enables Innov8's customers to electronically store, deliver, retrieve and authorise business documents such as invoices, purchase orders and dispatch notes directly from their software system.

With Version One's optical character recognition technology, data from incoming business documents, such as invoices, is also automatically captured, verified and then uploaded to the core finance/ERP system, reducing the time and costs associated with manual data entry.
