Google boosts agency news

Google is giving readers of its Internet news service direct access to the original source of stories written by major world news agencies, including AFP, says Indian Express.

Starting today, Google News users will be able to quickly and easily find original stories from news publishers and go directly to the original source.

Currently, stories by world agencies, such as Agence France-Presse, and domestic wire services, such as Britain's Press Association, can often be found online on the Web sites of subscriber news organisations that reproduce them.

Nintendo dominates consoles

Nintendo's Wii continues to dominate the Japanese console market, according to latest sales figures. BBC News reports that Nintendo sold nearly a quarter of a million machines during August, while Sony sold just over 80 000 PlayStation 3s and Microsoft just 11 000 Xbox 360s.

In the UK, the Wii became the fastest-selling console, shifting a million units in only 38 weeks.

Worldwide, the Wii is poised to overtake global sales of the Xbox 360, despite being released more than a year after the Microsoft machine.

Flight simulator for Google Earth

The latest version of Google Earth software supports a flight simulator, says TG Daily.

Scenic flights are already one of the most entertaining applications of the software, especially with a controller such as 3Dconnexion's Space Navigator.

The visuals from the Google flight simulator are limited when compared to that of Microsoft's flight simulator, with only basic controls and a limited view.
