MS admits Xbox download issues

A day after confirming downloadable Xbox games for 360, Microsoft says "there are some known issues" with the games, including choppy visuals, lack of additional content, and even system crashing, reports PC World.

According to Xbox.com, "there are also some issues unique to specific game titles", such as frame rate drops in Halo and Fuzion Frenzy, minor flickering in Crimson Skies, random bursts of audio static and texture issues on Fable, and lack of 720p support for Psychonauts.

Confirmed for release on 4 December, Xbox Originals come bundled with the upcoming Xbox 360 update on the same day. Originals cost $15 (1 200 Microsoft points).

Teen nabbed for virtual theft

Police in the Netherlands have arrested a teenager suspected of stealing virtual objects inside a popular social networking site, according to The Guardian.

The 17-year-old, who has not been named, is alleged to have tricked players of 3D cartoon world Habbo Hotel before removing a number of virtual items they had bought. It is believed to be the first time European officers have arrested someone for stealing virtual property.

"The accused lured victims into handing over their Habbo passwords by creating fake Habbo Web sites," said a spokesman for Sulake, the Finnish company that runs Habbo. "As in many other virtual worlds, scamming for other people`s personal information such as user names has been problematic for quite a while."

Nokia updates smartphone

Nokia has unveiled a high-end mobile phone with a 5MP camera and a built-in GPS navigation system, says PC World.

The N82 is the successor to Nokia`s N95 phone and comes with similar features, but they are packed into a candy-bar shape that makes the device feel a bit less bulky than the N95, which used a slider design.

Nokia said the N82 is shipping now in parts of Europe for a recommended price of 450 euros ($650) before subsidies, which is 100 euros less than the N95 when it went on sale about six months ago. Nokia did not say if it would ship the phone in the US.

Singapore bans MS game

Singapore has banned a Microsoft video game that contains a scene showing a human woman and an alien woman kissing and caressing each other, a local newspaper reported today, says Reuters.

The Straits Times said Singapore`s Media Development Authority had banned Mass Effect - a highly anticipated futuristic space adventure game from Microsoft.

In October, Singapore`s Parliament decided to keep a ban on sex between men, and prime minister Lee Hsien Loong said the city-state should keep its conservative values and not allow special rights for homosexuals.
