A former White House cyber security advisor, a couple of renowned hackers, and heavyweight security experts and authors are some of the speakers that will be at ITWeb's third Security Summit.

More than 50 local and international speakers will offer delegates a broad spectrum of information and insights into the latest technology, tools, strategy and best practices, to assist them in implementing and managing the correct level of IT security.

To be held at Vodaworld, Midrand, from 6 to 8 May, the event will draw speakers from a cross-section of the industry.

These will include Howard Schmidt, president and CEO of R&H Security Consulting and former White House cyber security advisor; Johnny Cache, hacker for hire and co-author of Hacking Exposed Wireless; Johnny Long, author of Google Hacking for Penetration; David Litchfield, security expert and author of the Oracle Hacker's Handbook; Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab; and Roger Halbheer, chief security advisor for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Microsoft.

Jovan Regasek, ITWeb's MD, says: "Since the day it was launched, the Security Summit became the industry event of the year - the most important day in the calendar of information security professionals.

"When we launched the Security Summit in 2005, our aim was to create a platform for information security professionals in SA to get together once a year, to compare notes and learn from renowned experts. In 2008, I feel we have achieved this objective," he adds.
