MSI Notebook releases charity model

MSI Notebook has unveiled a special charity model notebook, the MSI Wind Netbook Love Edition, reports Tweakpc

The new release is designated to support a range of notebook donation programmes around the world for children in rural and remote areas.

The donated notebooks will help those children learning valuable computer skills, connecting to world through the Internet, and narrowing the digital divide.

Toshiba introduces CSR award

Toshiba Business Solutions has revealed that two of its subsidiaries have won the inaugural Toshiba Corporate Social Responsibility Award, says Market Watch.

This newly established award is the company's first internal honour recognising the commitment and dedication of Toshiba's wholly-owned businesses to improving the communities where they work and live.

In recognition, $10 000 will be granted to the local charity of each company's choice on their behalf.

Lenovo release CSR report

PC manufacturer Lenovo made public its first corporate social responsibility report in China this week at a press conference in Beijing to mark the Olympic torch relay through Chengdu, reports Peoples Daily Online.

"We wish to share with and gain feedback from our friends to improve our practices," said Chen Shaopeng, senior vice-president of Lenovo Group and president of Greater China and Russia.

Lenovo announced that a five-million-yuan donation from its global employees will be used for the reconstruction of Jialing number one Middle School of Guangyuan, Sichuan province. At the same time, the company recommended five quake heroes from Sichuan to be Lenovo nominated torchbearers for the Paralympics.
