Senator introduces radio Bill

A US senator has introduced a Bill - The Radio All Digital Channel Receiver Act - that would require satellite and radio receiver manufacturers to include the ability to receive HD Radio signals in all receivers sold in the US, says THR.com.

As the US broadcast radio industry migrates to digital broadcasting technology, this legislation will ensure consumers are able to readily receive free service through consumer electronics systems that are otherwise receiving satellite digital audio radio and traditional AM or FM stations.

The Bill has the support of a bipartisan group of Energy and Commerce Committee House members.

Sensio broadcasts sport in 3D

Sensio Technologies, inventor of the Sensio 3D technology, is presenting sport content in live stereoscopic format (Live 3D) as part of its participation to Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies, held in Tokyo, Japan, says Market Watch.

Visitors will be able to view boxing in 3D, courtesy of Inition and Can Communicate, on an ACL HD 3D television set.

Sensio is already involved in the Live 3D broadcasting market, specifically in digital cinema. By offering alternative broadcasting, such as sporting events, it proves to industry players that this type of content can also service pay-per-view and video-on-demand programming in 3D format.
