Nuance buys SNAPin

Speech and imaging solutions provider Nuance Communications has completed the takeover of SNAPin Software, a provider of on-device self-service software for mobile operators, says TMCnet.

By leveraging the expertise and assets of SNAPin, Nuance will be able to offer scalable solutions that change the way operators and enterprises provide real-time customer care on mobile devices.

“Nuance's mobile care strategy focuses on delivering an outstanding consumer experience and economic benefits to mobile operators and enterprise customers,” said Mikael Berner, VP and GM, Nuance Mobile Care.

Radiant Systems has signed an agreement with Petro-Canada to deploy Radiant's customer self-service food ordering and drive-through point-of-sale solutions to the Canadian convenience retailer's Neighbours sites, reports Marketwatch.

"To compete effectively for the time-starved consumer, we have to offer not only great products, but also the fastest possible service," said Corinn Smith, advisor for downstream communications at Petro-Canada.

"Radiant's Customer Self-Service solution puts the consumers in complete control of the details of their food orders and allows our staff to focus on friendly service and preparing excellent meals."

Biometric-based software systems and solutions company Human Element Biometrics has introduced BioConnector, a software component that allows system developers to add fingerprint verification to their applications without using low-level software-developer-kit coding, states Kiosk Marketplace.

The product will be marketed to kiosk and self-service delivery systems, as well as vendors in the retail point-of-sale, workforce management, financial, healthcare, gaming/casino, education and hospitality industries.

BioConnector handles the interaction with the fingerprint reader and the verification process, as well as storage and retrieval of the fingerprint templates.
