ASUS wins prestigious G-Mark 2008 design awards

Eee PC 901, ASUS P552w PDA Phone and ASUS Essentio CS Series Desktop PC earn top billing with outstanding and innovative design.

Taipei, Taiwan, 20 Oct 2008

The results of the Good Design Awards 2008 - typically called the G-Mark Awards - have been released, and three ASUS products have been named winners of this prestigious award in the Communication devices/Communication devices for personal use category. The hugely popular Eee PC 901, ASUS P552w PDA phone and ASUS Essentio CS Series Compact Desktop PC have each received the honorary accolade.

The Good Design Award is Japan's only comprehensive design evaluation and award system. This system was instituted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.

With stringent and all-inclusive criteria for design evaluation, the awarded designs count more than 30 000 items so far, most of which are centred on industrial products, but include products in a wide variety of fields such as architecture, the environment, communication and even experimental design in state-of-the-art technical fields and business models that have design at their core. These awards recognise outstanding design and only the best entries are selected for an award and publicised internationally.
