IBM, SAP in Marks & Spencer deal

IBM and SAP have entered into an agreement with Marks & Spencer (M&S) to implement a suite of SAP Retail applications, states MSNBC.

The program aims to provide M&S with accurate business data and robust core processes to enable business improvement initiatives in cost and operating efficiencies.

Specifically, the program will improve stock visibility and management of information, while increasing process efficiency, which M&S believes will enhance the customer experience and drive greater control over net margin.

Motorola unveils retail solutions

Motorola has unveiled retail solutions through which the company hopes to improve customer experience, reports TMCnet.

The company says store associates will be helped with advanced data capture, mobile payment, and security solutions to enhance their business results.

The stores will also get tools to increase productivity and protect customer data.

GuestLogix announces mobile POS software

GuestLogix, the leading provider of on-board retail systems to airlines, today released details about its next-generation Mobile Virtual Store point-of-sale software for airlines, says MSNBC.

Running on Microsoft Windows CE, the GuestLogix software features 'iPhone-like' user experience and workflow allowing flight attendants to easily and quickly manage a growing number of on-board transactions using a simple touch interface.

The new software has met all the PCI Security Standard Council's compliance mandates has one of the few, if not only, airline POS applications that meets the most current payment security standards as validated according to the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS).
