YMCA to create online university

The YMCA of Philadelphia and Vicinity has selected eLearning provider, Tortal, to create, develop and manage its online training university, says Newswire Today.

Tortal's solution will provide the YMCA of Philadelphia and Vicinity the ability to track, document, and report on a learner's progress as well as provide Internet hosting, security and maintenance services, and help desk support.

The initial training programme will include child abuse prevention, member experience training, volunteer sports coaching, workplace harassment, YMCA quality, and blood-borne pathogens.

OnPoint Digital, Urban Planet Mobile partner

OnPoint Digital, an e-learning and mobile solutions provider, has signed Urban Planet Mobile as a mobile learning platform customer and strategic partner, states Training Press Releases.

Urban Planet Mobile will use OnPoint Digital's CellCast Solution to manage their library of mobile content and easily deliver it directly to users' mobile phones.

The CellCast Solution platform will allow Urban Planet Mobile to distribute audio learning programmes designed to reach 90% of mobile phone users around the world initially through simple SMS text delivery.

NetDimensions upgrades online learning centre

NetDimensions is set to see its Enterprise Knowledge Platform (EKP), used by the Irish Health Service Executive's (HSE) Online Learning Centre, says Small Cap News.

The new system is part of a 1.1 million euro upgrade being run by specialist professional development and educational design company Aurion Learning, which already manages the HSE's e-learning strategy development.

Aurion will upgrade the Online Learning Centre developed for the HSE to include a range of new e-learning and knowledge sharing tools including a new suite of e-learning authoring tools, Wikis and blogs, complemented by the EKP Learning Management System.
