Scala Business Software Africa gears up for iScala 2.1

Johannesburg, 18 Jul 2002

Scala Business Software Africa says the imminent release of iScala 2.1 will revolutionise collaborative enterprise resource planning (ERP) by opening more channels of communication to the enterprise than ever before. This is according to Shamik Sinha, CEO of Scala Business Software Africa.

"This is the world's first pre-packaged, purpose-built collaborative ERP solution available," says Sinha. He states that with robust functionality and increased security, iScala 2.1 is flexible enough to handle the rapidly changing environments that characterise today's business climate.

"We believe iScala will fundamentally change business processes, delivering enhanced automation and control across systems," he adds.

With the release date scheduled for 25 July, iScala 2.1 technology incorporates Scala's 20 years of experience in building ERP systems, embodying the full functionality of preceding products and over two years of experience in delivering practical collaborative solutions.

With over 70 customers in SA and a further 200 in the rest of Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, Scala Business Software Africa is confident of far reaching success for the latest version of iScala.

"Our customers use iScala collaborative ERP software to supply information about levels of stock around their companies, automating the processes of issuing purchase orders and processing invoices, without manual re-keying. Unlike EDI (electronic data interchange) systems that can achieve some of this, our software applies intelligence to the process, reflecting our customers' accepted business processes for ordering and invoicing - making sure that the right business is done the way our customers want, not the way the technology insists," says Sinha, describing the flexible nature of iScala's collaborative software.

"Scala technology has had many success stories where the Scala software has made global business simple for leading enterprises like Swisscom, Merck, Leggett & Platt, Ace Hardware, Hyatt International, ABB, Ericsson TNT Container Logistics, Gate Gourmet, Whirlpool and many more," he concludes.
