Fulcrum launches resourcing offering

Johannesburg, 05 Jul 2007

Fulcrum Business Solutions (FBS), the leading provider of enterprise project management (EPM) solutions, today announced the launch of its project resourcing offering.

As an additional service to its current EPM offerings that include EPM roll-outs, training and mentoring and support, Fulcrum is now able to offer a variety of project-related resources, for placement at its clients, on either a permanent or contract basis.

Resources available include various levels of project and programme managers, as well as project administrators. EPM consultants and administrators are also available.

Says Pauline Smith, Managing Director of FBS: "More and more we have been getting requests from our customers for us to provide appropriately-skilled people to assist in the staffing of their project environment. For us, the provision of these skills is a natural extension of our solutions in the EPM and project space.

"Whenever we do an EPM roll-out, it is always necessary to re-evaluate the structures, processes and people in our clients' business. More often than not, the implementation of an EPM solution highlights the need for additional resources or resources with a different skill-set within a client's business, which clients don't necessarily want to employ on a full-time basis.

"Our offering allows our clients access to skills without having to take these skills on permanently.

"Furthermore, our knowledge and understanding of the project environment allows us to use our experience in profiling project resources to ensure that we place the right skill and personality at the right opportunity."

The mentoring and support and training divisions of Fulcrum will also be involved in the project resourcing offering. Says Smith: "Where we have identified the need for training or mentoring for a particular resource, we are able to provide this internally using the competencies within our other business units, thus allowing our project resources the benefit of growth and upskilling."
