UK-based Alfresco Software has partnered with Adobe Systems to provide additional content services capabilities to Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite (ES), says CBR Online.

It said Adobe will embed the Alfresco Enterprise Content Management software into Adobe LiveCycle ES, which will enable customers to rapidly develop and deploy content-rich engagement applications.

Adobe LiveCycle ES platform delivers content management and collaboration tools allowing users to mix and present internal and external content, and bring social computing capabilities into the workplace while ensuring enterprise-level security and control.

Mimosa unveils dev kit

Mimosa Systems has unveiled a comprehensive software developer kit (SDK) for its Mimosa NearPoint platform, says Business Wire.

NearPoint addresses critical requirements for content archiving, e-discovery, content monitoring, regulatory compliance, business continuity, and storage optimisation in a unified solution.

The SDK, which is free and open, allows customers, partners and developers to extend NearPoint's capabilities to a broader set of content sources available for archiving.

Oracle acquires Skywire

Oracle is continuing its aggressive push into vertical industry applications, announcing the planned acquisition of a developer of software for the insurance industry, says CRN.

The acquisition of Skywire for an undisclosed sum, combined with its pending acquisition of AdminServer, a supplier of insurance policy administration applications, will help Oracle assemble a complete software suite for the insurance industry.

Skywire Software develops applications for managing insurance policy life cycles, such as creating and rating insurance policies, as well as document management business applications.
