Fleet management and IT company DigiCore Holdings has appointed a new MD to replace Nick Vlok, who has taken up the post of executive deputy chairman.

DigiCore recently restored its fortunes on the back of a number of large orders, after reporting a fall in operating profit from R26.6 million to R3.8 million in the year to June 2000.

The group MD post has been filled by Nardus Truter, with effect from 15 January.

Truter, who has an MCom degree and a doctorate in business administration, has 18 years experience throughout Africa in the transportation, vehicle and fleet management retail industries throughout Africa as well as the luxury car manufacturing market.

Vlok says Truter will be responsible for the allocation of resources among the group`s four subsidiaries, with a focus on internal dynamics.

"This pertains to the delivering of support services to internal customers in improving information output required for strategic planning and decision-making, setting up policies and procedures, and co-ordinating marketing efforts," he adds.

Truter says he also aims to measure customer satisfaction through independent surveys, enabling DigiCore to move its focus from sales to customer care.

Vlok`s new role as deputy chairman will involve research and opening new markets for the group.
