IT services provider T-Systems` contract to provide Sanlam with an array of outsourced services has been extended in a deal worth about R146 million.

The contract involves delivery of services to more than 6 700 desktop users and 5 100 collaboration users.

T-Systems says the purpose of the deal is to extend the delivery period for services ranging from desktop, helpdesk, server hosting (including storage and backup), collaboration and storage for imaging.

"The deal demonstrates the continual growth in our partnership with Sanlam, allowing us to provide increased value through a long-term, sustainable relationship," says T-Systems account executive Ferdi Herbst.

"Sanlam in turn will benefit from the extension of the current contract with lower prices, no transitional costs and no transition service disruptions."

T-Systems will leverage off the existing service contract. "The contract extension allows us to maximise the value of the service we provide Sanlam," Herbst says.
