Connection Group`s half-year figures are expected to show a healthy improvement over those of the previous interim period.
It says it is currently finalising the results, which are to be released before the end of the month.
The group has told shareholders that earnings for the six months to February will be substantially higher than those of the comparative period.
In terms of JSE definitions, "substantially" refers to a change of at least 30%.
Connection recently changed its year-end from May to August. To allow for a comparison, it has extracted the results for the six months to 28 February 2003 from the most recent audited results.
The extracted results for that period show headline earnings of 21.41c a share.
