Vox Telecom's acquisitive strategy is likely to extend its footprint outside of SA.
The company's annual report says the number of local acquisitions in the coming year may slow. This follows 12 acquisitions in the past 18 months.
However, executive chairman Tony van Marken says the board expects to see a continuation of strong organic growth "as a result of significant demand for voice and data services in the consumer and corporate markets alike".
Despite an expected decline in local purchases, Van Marken says the company sees opportunity outside its borders.
"Although our primary focus is on the domestic South African market, we have, through the acquisition of Definity Telecom, in Namibia, expanded beyond our borders. We believe there are additional opportunities for further expansion in the SADC region and we will carefully pursue these," he reveals.
Vox Telecom announced several acquisitions following the end of its financial year in August. These include the purchase of Absa Internet Services, the R360 million offer for Storm Telecoms and the acquisition of AmVia.
