The virtual savings and online retail marketing site, Coupons.co.za, is a joint winner in the Retail Category of the Business Day Corporate Web Site Awards. According to Rowan Brewer, managing director of Coupons.co.za, the panel of judges rated the added value services and innovative direct marketing opportunities of this unique Web offering very highly.
Brewer says: "Coupons.co.za offers local retailers an opportunity to enhance their Internet presence and reach cyber audiences in a targeted manner. Shoppers, on the other hand, are offered a personalised service in which they build their own coupon pages to notify them of discounts on preferred lines."
Brewer's pioneering spirit has largely contributed to Coupons' success with his most recent addition to the functionality of the site being a digital coupon service. He explains: "While coupons can still be printed from the site for in-store redemption, new technology from ECNet now provides a direct link from the coupon to the retailer's site. Once the purchase is confirmed, the shopper's credit card is instantly credited with the discounted amount."
Coupons.co.za is the first South African Web site to win a TRUSTe certification, demonstrating its commitment to user privacy.
Participating retailers include WebShopper (SA's biggest online computer shopping site), British Airways, Furniture Online, ToysOnline, Anstek Computers and Martindale Stacey du Toit - the JSE's biggest discount brokerage. The site is also an associate of Amazon.com, Cyberian Outpost and CD Now.
Republican Press was announced joint winner in the retail category.
