AucorActive, the Internet arm of auctioneering group Aucor, has embarked on a new "preferred partner" project aimed at establishing business partnerships between the corporate and IT worlds. One of its first preferred partners is the South African information hub, Ananzi.
"Even though many players in the industry have been sitting on the fence waiting to see what happens in the South African online auction market, we have still been approached by various corporates to enter into a variety of joint ventures or partnerships," says Brian Winterstein, CEO of AucorActive.
"We believe that this is a direct result of the large amount of traffic, the number of items on our site, and our exceptional rate of successful sales."
This first of such negotiations to have been concluded entails AucorActive powering Ananzi Auctions, which will now provide total buyer and seller protection to its clients through the use of AucorActive`s technology.
"We spent a lot of time and effort investigating the various players in the market," says Mark Buwalda, Ananzi Business Unit manager. "We wanted someone that would offer us the best solution for our needs and a company that was held in high regard in the marketplace."
Ananzi Auctions offers users an intelligent agent called "Bid Buddy", a utility for buyers who don`t have the time or patience to bid for themselves. Users can leave a maximum bid for an item with Bid Buddy, which then bids on the user`s behalf.
