Safari.net, an African travel Web site developed within the AfriCam group, goes live tomorrow. The content-rich site carries a number of features, including automated safari and lodge finders, in-depth travel articles and reviews, as well as information on African cultures.

Offering handpicked safaris and accommodation in partnership with tour operators experienced in the African travel industry, Safari.net describes itself as a one-stop shop, and the perfect tool for the traveller and travel agents.

The site has an exclusive content partnership with the National Parks Board, and hopes to encourage both local and international interest in SA's eight primary national parks.

Although it was developed and is currently being maintained in the US, Safari.net editor and content director Angus Begg says management of this aspect will be moved to SA by the end of April.

Discussing other short-term goals, Begg says: "It's a very niche market, and we're aiming for about 500 000 monthly page impressions a month over the next three months."
