VOIP World Africa 2008 will be held from 12 to 15 May at the Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The African markets present many opportunities for growth within the VOIP sector and the conference provides the opportunity to meet with key players and learn about trends that are shaping the VOIP industry in Africa, says conference organiser, Terrapin.

Case studies will examine issues such as analysing the real business benefits of VOIP, investigating the rewards and risks of VOIP implementation and overcoming the migration pains and ensuring a glitch-free implementation, the company adds.

According to Terrapin, delegates can take part in roundtable and interactive panel discussions. They can expect to hear speakers such as Brian Kissack, head of Voice Telecoms; Thabo Kgotsa, network operations manager for SAB Miller; Ben Gouws, senior superintendent of the SA Police Service; and Ray Webber, voice architect for First National Bank.

In addition, the company says Craig Shalekoff, IT manager, Contact Centre Nucleus; Joe Lazarus, head of networks for Liberty Life; Neil Ada, head of ICT at Dialogue Group; and Abri Rozendaal, VOIP specialist, technical product development for Telkom SA will be presenting.
