Oracle has rolled out its Gadget Wizard for Google applications with support for Google's Secure Data Connector.

Oracle said in a statement that its collaboration with Google enables millions of users to build and deploy Oracle gadgets on Google sites.

Rajen Sheth, senior product manager for Google Applications, says: "Working together, we will provide organisations with the benefits of Oracle's customer relations management (CRM) applications, combined with the collaboration and productivity gains companies see with Google Apps”.

Oracle's Siebel CRM applications seamlessly interact with the Google cloud through the Google Secure Data Connector. Oracle says this opens the door to the delivery of next-generation software-as-a-service applications that do not impact existing resources and to accessing corporate data from behind firewalls.

According to Oracle, Siebel CRM support of the Google Secure Data Connector provides customers with an open, in-the-cloud Internet-based environment with any choice of programming language, open Web platforms, and maximum portability.

Users can build gadgets without any prior programming knowledge. Oracle notes this promotes the development of gadgets that leverage Oracle CRM.

Mark Woollen, vice-president of social CRM at Oracle, points out that Google's Secure Data Connector is instrumental in connecting data from behind a company's firewall to the Web-based applications that exist in the cloud.

Woollen adds: "We're excited to see Google provide an open, standards-based environment that makes it easy for developers to create new cloud-based applications that are capable of interacting in real-time with Oracle's Siebel CRM in an on-premise environment.

“This connects Siebel CRM to the cloud in a flexible yet encrypted manner, enabling the Google Secure Data Connector to be another valuable tool for innovation for our customers.”
