SMC Enterprise partnered with Services Seta to conceptualise and build the new iBility Portal, an exciting new offering for the disabled community of South Africa.
In his address, at the iBility launch in April 2009 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Services Seta CEO Ivor Blumenthal emphasised that society must actively strive to empower the disabled community as their numbers and contributions cannot be ignored. He reiterated Services Seta's commitment to long-term skills development in the disabled community.
The iBility portal was conceived out of Services Seta's vision to educate, empower and engage the disabled community. iBility is a fresh and innovative Web portal that breaks new ground in the way disabled people are introduced into mainstream working environments.
Its primary function is to provide South Africa's largest database of differently abled jobseekers and connect them with willing employers. The iBility portal allows people with disabilities to create their own profiles, register their CVs and apply for jobs online. Potential employers can register, after which they will have access to this database when looking for staff for their businesses.
Other features and benefits of the iBility portal are extensive, and include monthly expert blog topics, online chat facilities, opinion polls and social networking functionalities.
