Austereo airs e-billing

Australian national broadcaster, the Austereo Group, is rolling out an integrated e-billing and payment management solution, says Computerworld.

With radio stations in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, Austereo is piloting a project designed to take the backroom function of accounts receivables and put it into the hands of customers, unlocking new efficiencies and cost savings along the way.

Austereo has purchased an integrated solution comprising CommSecure's BillSecure e-billing and payment management solution, the PaySecure secure payments gateway and DDRSecure direct debit management and payment solution.

E-billing activity exceeds paper bills

More and more customers are going to their keyboards instead of their mailboxes to collect and pay bills for their homes and businesses, says Destination CRM.

In fact, a majority of customers who have at-home Internet access now say they actually prefer electronic billing to the old paper-based way of doing business, according to the April 2007 Consumer Bill Payment Survey, conducted on behalf of e-billing vendor CheckFree.

For the first time since CheckFree began sponsoring the survey in 2002, the volume of online e-billing activity exceeds the volume of paper bills paid by households that have Internet access.

Telecom Egypt chooses Group 1

Telecom Egypt has selected Group 1 Software as its Customer Communication Management (CCM) solutions provider of choice to enhance the customer billing process, reports BI-me.com.

Group 1 Software will be implementing a suite of CCM components to enable Telecom Egypt to deliver convergent billing [single bill for customers who use different services, replacing multiple bill production] and e-billing to the company's extensive customer base.

Andrew Greenyer, VP of international marketing at Group 1 Software, commented: "As well as the immediate print and postal efficiencies that come with convergent and online billing, the positive environmental impact of reduced paper wastage has been a driving force behind this project."
