Backbase adds Java support

Backbase's latest rich Internet application development environment adds Java frameworks support, says Application Development Trends.

The improvements allow Java developers to create fat-clients and dynamic Web applications without having code in JavaScript.

The product, Enterprise Ajax 4.2 for Java, supports "all popular Java frameworks, including Struts, Spring MVC and Java Server Faces", according to an announcement issued by the company.

Celltop works with Java

Aricent has discussed global availability of the Celltop, a suite of applications or cells, all latched to the Internet, says The Hindu.

The company's president Sanjay Dhawan says the application works with both Java and Brew - the two programming environments that fuel the GSM and CDMA mobile phone.

"The beauty is: the same cell can be displayed on a mobile phone, a TV screen, a PC or a notebook computer, as the user moves from home to office."

Manila goes to Tech Days

Filipino developers are expected to benefit from Manila's selection as one of 15 cities participating in Sun Microsystems' 2008 Sun Tech Days, says Inquirer.net.

Manila was chosen to be part of the conference because, according to Naveen Asrani, manager of developer relations at Sun Microsystems Asia-Pacific: "Filipinos show great potential through their creativity and communications skill."

Sun Tech Days is a global developer conference, to be held from 17 to 19 June, at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
