Telkom introduces Surf AnyTime

Bringing customers greater savings on Internet dial-up costs
By Telkom
Johannesburg, 05 Oct 2004

Businesses and consumers can now save up to 20% on their Internet dial-up costs with new innovative calling plans from Telkom.

Telkom Surf AnyTime is specifically designed for customers surfing the Internet during Standard time. The packages are available in 600, 1200, 1800 and 2400 inclusive minute offerings with savings ranging from 10 - 20% on dial-up costs during Standard time.

Customers with multiple users connecting to the Internet from different lines need only to subscribe to one plan. All dial-up Internet calls made from any of the lines on one Telkom account will be subtracted from the available inclusive minutes.

An additional benefit is that there is no minimum charge per call. Only the actual number of seconds connected to the Internet is subtracted from the available inclusive minutes, this is a pure per second billing calling plan.

Telkom Surf AnyTime is available to both ISDN and analogue Internet dial-up users with no additional installation or set-up charges. The costs of the packages are as follows:

Telkom Surf AnyTime 600: R204 for 600 inclusive minutes per month
Telkom Surf AnyTime 1200: R391 for 1 200 inclusive minutes per month
Telkom Surf AnyTime 1800: R559 for 1 800 inclusive minutes per month
Telkom Surf AnyTime 2400: R727 for 2 400 inclusive minutes per month

Only local or Sharecall 0860 Internet calls to recognised ISPs will be eligible as inclusive minutes. It is essential to confirm the ISP POP number, as only calls to these numbers will utilise the inclusive minutes.

The service is easy to subscribe to. Customers can call Telkom Business on 10217 or the consumer call centre on 10219.
