Telkom has made five new senior management appointments, less than a month after severing ties with three former employees after their suspensions.

Rabaji is currently a special director of public prosecutions in the National Prosecuting Authority Asset Forfeiture Unit. She is also deputy chair of Nicri Management (Tembisa) as well as a negotiating team member to the greater Midrand Negotiating Forum on Local Government.

"Klopper`s expert knowledge and vast experience has served Telkom well in managing a number of critical and complex legal matters over the past years," the statement says.

In the Chief Technical Officer`s (CTO`s) environment, Alphonzo Samuels was named as Telkom`s broadband officer. This new position is critical as the provision of data services is central to the company`s strategy of generating growth.

Ruben September was the previous CTO, but has since assumed the role of chief operations officer.

Telkom says Samuels has 17 years` experience and a vast knowledge of the technological environment.

Zethembe Khoza was appointed as managing executive: consumer markets. Khoza is currently an executive in customer services. He joined Telkom in 1980.

Steven Hayward was appointed managing executive: business and key markets. Hayward has 11 years` experience in Telkom.

Telkom CEO Papi Molotsane congratulated all the Telkom employees who have been entrusted with the responsibility of steering the company towards its vision of becoming a leading customer and employee centred ICT solutions service provider.

In November Telkom settled with three former employees Pinky Moholi, Belinda Willams and Oupa Magashule, following a reshuffle after Molotsane took over as CEO. The settlement details were kept confidential.
