Samsung U700 honoured as 'European Mobile Phone 2007-2008' by European Imaging and Sound Association

The Samsung U700, the slimmest HSDPA mobile phone, has received the 'European Mobile Phone 2007-2008' award from the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).

The award recognises excellence in handset design and technology innovation.

As a distinguished mobile phone from the Samsung Ultra Edition line-up, which combines stylish designs with the latest multimedia features, Samsung's U700 offers the most advanced up-to-date multimedia technologies with High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) at 3.6Mbps. The U700 also supports video telephony functionality to enhance multimedia features.

The appealing design of Samsung's Ultra Edition U700 includes a unique and stylish interface for ultimate usability. It also comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera in an ultra-slim profile and boasts a 5.6cm wide TFT LCD wide screen.

The Convergence Panel of EISA voted Samsung's U700 for 'the European Mobile Phone 2007-2008' because of its high speed data communication capability, 10 times faster than normal UMTS, and various multimedia features, such as audio-compression technologies and an embedded 3.2-megapixel camera. Also, the panel highly praised the U700's U GO feature which shows a special landmark on the phone's display and changes it automatically wherever users are travelling.

EISA Awards

The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) award is the most prestigious award in the European video and audio industry. Experts from 50 influential magazines in 19 European countries form the examination board that selects the best product in each of five categories: audio, video, home theatre, photography and mobile. There is intense competition among world-renowned companies every year to attain an EISA award.
