3Com develops VOIP for SMEs

3Com has launched a choice of IP telephony products designed to allow small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to benefit from enterprise-quality IP telephony, reports VOIP-News.

The products will help SMEs unify communications and applications on an open architecture platform to facilitate business growth.

3Com`s VCX Connect solution is designed for companies with 30 to 250 phone users.

VCOMM in VOIP deal

VCOMM, a UK-based Internet communications distributor, has secured two deals to increase its services to the UK and Irish reseller channel, reports Net4Now.

Coms` VCOMM unit has been appointed as the UK distributor for Polycom`s SoundPoint business VOIP phones.

The phones will be distributed directly through VCOMM, and will also be sold as part of Coms` business VOIP solution.

MS targets SME market

Microsoft is planning to release a range of VOIP products aimed at SMEs, reports ihotdesk.

The Response Point phone system supports both IP and analogue-based telephony and needs a base unit and multiple desktop phones.

Original equipment manufacturing partners Quanta and D-link will provide 20 phone systems for Response Point, which will be bundled with the software.
