Letlape quits Telkom

Johannesburg, 22 Jan 2008

Telkom's group executive for corporate communications, Lulu Letlape, has left the company, a Telkom spokesman has confirmed.

Letlape resigned towards the end of last year, and has been replaced by Nabintu Petsana, executive for internal communications, in an acting capacity. Telkom did not officially announce her resignation, in line with company policy, says the spokesman.

"While there is no official comment, I can confirm she has resigned to explore business opportunities outside of Telkom," he states.

The spokesman would not be drawn on when a permanent appointment could be expected, saying a process needs to be followed.

Letlape says she does not have any specific career opportunities lined up, and would not disclose her reasons for leaving Telkom.

She had been at the helm of Telkom's corporate division since November 2004, after joining the telecommunications utility in February of that year.
