Tadrian builds $3m VOIP network

The of Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has chosen Tadrian Telecom to provide an IP of 60 systems throughout the country, states Telegeography.

The project, valued at over $3 million (R29.7 million), will allow all of BIDV's branches to communicate using voice over IP (VOIP) telephony. Tadrian was chosen over other IP telecoms solutions developers Avaya, Alcatel and Siemens.

Tadrian sales and marketing VP Zeev Aviv says Vietnam is one of the fastest growing ICT markets in the world. As such, local companies seek the cost-efficiency and flexibility provided by IP telephony networks and which Tadrian can provide.

Sagem-Interstar promotes FOIP

Interstar, a developer of fax server solutions for IP networks, unveiled its first corporate video on YouTube titled: 'Can UC what's missing?', reports TMC Net.

The new video highlights the benefits of unified communications, such as enhanced worker productivity, and reduced business expenses. However, organisations often overlook deploying VOIP fax solutions or fax over IP (FOIP) solutions as a strategic component of their UC strategy.

VOIP, e-mail, audio, video and Web-conferencing, voicemail, instant messaging, and unified messaging are just some of the key unified communications technologies used today.

InTechnology, BT sign deal

BT and InTechnology announced a five-year agreement under which BT will provide InTechnology with high-bandwidth voice and data services, delivered over its next-generation network, says TechWhack.

The deal will provide InTechnology access to BT's wholesale Ethernet service. InTechnology will now be able to take advantage of BT's national reach and economies of scale, and deliver high-bandwidth Ethernet services to a wider footprint of UK corporate customers, while at the same time realising cost savings of up to 40% for its customers.

The deal with BT will allow InTechnology to significantly extend the reach of its existing Ethernet coverage in the UK, rising to 600 nodes by Spring 2009.This will bring high-speed data services to 87% of UK businesses.
