Interactive Intelligence (Nasdaq: ININ), a global provider of unified IP business communications solutions, has completed the Cisco interoperability verification testing using the session initiation protocol standard.
As one of the first vendors to complete the SIP IVT testing with Cisco's Unified Communications Manager, Interactive Intelligence enables shared customers to take advantage of both vendors' systems without the need for costly and complex middleware layers.
“Since our founding in 1994, we've been a vocal advocate of open standards and a very early adopter of the SIP standard,” said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr Donald E Brown. “Our latest Cisco testing underscores this mission, giving customers a cost-effective and feature-rich business communications solution that protects their existing investments.”
The company completed testing of its contact centre automation, enterprise IP telephony and enterprise messaging software for use with Cisco's Unified Communications Manager.
The Cisco IVT was designed to ensure participants' products, when interoperating with Cisco products through prescribed interfaces, will perform their desired functions without mutual interference. By completing the Cisco IVT, participating vendors also ensure shared customers receive joint product support.
As a long-standing Cisco Technology Developer Program member, Interactive Intelligence has participated in Cisco interoperability testing since 2001, when it offered integration via Cisco's telephony application programmer's interface.
