Vukosi Sambo

Chief Data Officer, Kaelo

Vukosi is the CDO for Kaelo, where he is responsible for enterprise-wide governance and utilization of information as an asset, data integration, business performance optimisation, market innovation, systems thinking, business and process re-engineering and capacity planning and resource planning modelling.

He is also head of the Data Science Team and oversees the company’s predictive analytics, machine learning and AI initiatives. He is also a member of the Group Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Kaelo in October 2018, he was a Business Engineer at Discovery Bank and an Advanced Analytics Lead and Forecast & Trends Specialist - Strategic Insights at South African Breweries. He joined Discovery in 2010 as a Strategic Projects Analyst & Resource Planner and became an Associate Specialist - Analytics & Strategic Ops nearly two years later.

He has a BEconSc in Economic Science from Wits University, post-graduate qualifications in risk management and business administration and a MBA, all from UNISA.
