Dumisani Gumbi is the Group Information Officer and Head of Data Privacy for the Sanlam Group, leading data privacy governance, regulatory compliance and information accountability across one of Africa’s largest financial services groups.

He holds a BSc Diploma in Computer Science, an LLB from the University of the Western Cape, an LLM from the University of Cape Town, and an MBA from Stellenbosch Business School. With extensive experience spanning data privacy, technology and data governance and regulatory engagement, Dumisani advises business leaders on navigating increasingly complex digital and regulatory environments.

His work includes advancing data privacy maturity, strengthening governance for emerging technologies, overseeing third-party data risk, and supporting regulatory compliance across multinational operations. His broader focus is on fostering digital trust and strengthening accountability across complex data value chains.
