CEO, Communications Risk Information Centre (COMRiC)
Adv. Thokozani Mvelase is the CEO for COMRiC (Communications Risk Information Centre). He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Commercial Fraud Practitioner with over two decades’ experience in forensic investigations and risk management. Thokozani holds a BCom Law from University of Johannesburg and a LLB from Wits University. Amongst his career professional experience, Thokozani worked for the Directorate of Special Operations (Previously known as the “SCORPIONS”). He received training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Washington. He then proceeded to KPMG where he worked as a forensic investigator. Thokozani is no stranger to the telecommunications sector, having worked for Telkom SA for over 11 years as Group Executive, Enterprise Risk Management. As the CEO for COMRIC, Thokozani is tasked to build a collective action infrastructure industry body to focus on strategic risks, security and crime risks affecting the telecoms industry and where the industry infrastructure is used as a conduit to commit various crimes. This translates into enabling the ICT community to reach their strategic objectives and to improve their business performance by sharing risk intelligence on industry challenges and by collaborating where possible. Thokozani lead the first edition of the “COMRiC Telecommunications Sector Report”, a groundbreaking publication that puts a spotlight on the state of the telecom’s industry risks, crime and its resilience in the country. |
