ChainEX (a proudly South African private company), is an online digital currency exchange platform from which users from all over the world can securely trade digital currencies. It is currently the only digital asset exchange which allows South Africans to trade over 20 different digital assets using the South African rand.

ChainEX was founded early in 2018 but the dream of creating a digital asset exchange, existed long before then...

In 2015, one of the executive team members was introduced to digital currencies after eavesdropping on a conversation two people had over breakfast. Curiosity got the better of him and after reading up on what he heard and researching the subject further, decided that he couldn't not get involved. He didn't know how yet, but he knew he had to do something! Eager to share his excitement about this new technology he spoke to some of his friends who got invested in his ideas and ultimately became shareholders. Spurred on by a lot of passion and excitement with a vague idea about what they wanted to achieve but not exactly knowing how, the journey began. Then suddenly, as if everything in the universe was created for all the right people to be at the exact right place at the exact same time, a random conversation led to the discovery that a newly met friend was a systems architect and expert in digital currency technology who together with an overseas investment partner wanted to launch a digital asset exchange! With this combination of vision, passion and know-how, ChainEX was born and the rest, as they say, is history.

It reads like a story you would think happens only by chance, once in a lifetime or, only to a select few. We at ChainEX however, don't believe in "chance", "coincidence" or that success is only reserved for a select few. We believe in purpose and that if you make up your mind and follow your dreams wholeheartedly believing that anything is possible, the rest will follow.
