ITWeb Governance, Risk & Compliance 2020 will hold two workshops: "Auditing the IT processes in the digital age" and "Business resilience and continuity management", which are aimed at equipping delegates with valuable information on risk mitigation and protection of their most valuable information assets through good governance.
Going with the theme: "Embedding new GRC Technologies into business processes", the 10th edition of the conference will be held at The Forum, Bryanston, on 25 February, with two half-day workshops on the following day, 26 February.
Angela Mace, CRM and Events director at ITWeb, says the advent of new technologies has raised the need for organisations to adopt automated GRC solutions in order to provide proactive and effective IT risk detection and mitigation, respectively.
"Our workshops are aimed at helping delegates to future-proof their organisations in this fast-paced digital era by ensuring they have a solid business resilience management programme in place and also by making sure they have a clear picture of all their IT resources through the implementation of efficient IT audit processes."
The first-half day workshop: "Auditing the IT processes in the digital age", will be facilitated by ISACA South Africa’s immediate past president and EGIT director of digital transformation and innovation advisory, Tichaona Zororo.
Zororo has several years of in-depth experience in mainstream IT, IT auditing, cyber security, digital transformation and innovation governance and IT risk across private and public sectors across Africa, Europe, the US and Asia. Zororo is an advisor to a number of boards of directors, IT and business leaders across the globe on innovation and digital transformation, governance of enterprise IT, cyber security, IT auditing and IT risk. He is involved in the development of numerous ISACA research papers and COBIT publications.
A renowned COBIT expert, advisor and accredited trainer, Zororo is credited for being the first COBIT Certified Assessor in Southern Africa, the first African and person from Africa to sit on the ISACA Board of Directors (2016-2017, 2017 – 2018, 2018 – 2019 and 2019 - 2020) and to chair its Audit and Risk Committee (2017 – 2018 and 2018 - 2019).
Zororo is a recipient of the prestigious ISACA Harold Weiss Award for Outstanding Achievement for his exceptional dedication and achievement that far exceeds the norm in digital and innovation governance. He has served on the ISACA Framework Committee, CGEIT Test Enhancement Subcommittee, the External Advocacy Committee and was vice-chair of the ISACA Audit and Risk Committee.
He was voted the best speaker, Africa and Asia CACS 2017. He is a member and advisor to a number of Audit and Risk Committees in South Africa, a Board Member (2012 - current) and the Immediate Past President of ISACA South Africa Chapter.
This workshop will delve deeper into how companies are going through the digital transformation process due to various market forces and the fourth industrial revolution. It will examine how IT audit processes are transforming in this digital era.
During this workshop, Zororo will impart knowledge and insights on understanding why IT audit risk assessments are an absolute must, how to get in the right staff and skills to enable efficient IT audit processes, how data analytics is fundamentally transforming audit processes and how to keep track of IT costs and expenditures.
The second half-day workshop is themed: "Business resilience and continuity management" and will explore how businesses can come up with methods and technologies of detecting risks and future-proofing themselves.
This workshop will be facilitated by renowned IT risk certified MBA, CISSP, CISM, CVE, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer & Auditor, ISO 27035 Lead Incident Response Professional, Certified ISO 27005 Risk, COBIT and ITIL trainer and managing director of Wolfpack Information Risk, Craig Rosewarne.
Rosewarne has over 20 years of management experience in the fields of information and cyber security. He is frequently invited to speak at local and international events, has trained executive and operational teams from hundreds of organisations and provided oversight on over 150 security projects.
In this workshop, Rosewarne will take the delegates through the steps of identifying risks and knowing how they will manifest, due to rapidly evolving technologies. He will also demonstrate methods of managing both foreseeable and unforeseeable risks in your organisation.
Attendees will be taught how to conduct a comprehensive assessment of their organisations’ current business resilience posture and thus prepare them for any risks that might arise in the future by putting in place the necessary measures. This session will also break down how organisations can apply more prescriptive management of the IT environment to achieve enterprise-wide business resilience and the importance of applying a common, integrated and organisation-wide BCM approach.
Attendees will be treated to breakfast, tea and lunch breaks, as well as the opportunity to network with their peers after the workshops.
