In terms of expert insight, Louise Steenekamp, head of Information Technology, SA Commercial at Aspen Pharmacare, will discuss the human factor of cyber governance. Over the past 24 years, she has developed extensive experience in the implementation and running of IT applications and services, navigating the world of IT from consulting, advisory, sales and operational management perspectives.
On a more interactive level, the event will host a panel discussion, featuring Makabongwe Siziba, director of Government Information Technology at the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Social Development (GITO). At present, he manages the ICT function of the department, ensuring the establishment of sound information management systems.
Finally, for those who enjoy a 'hands-on' approach, Gary Hardy, one of the founders of the COBIT Framework, will be facilitating a workshop on IT governance frameworks, with a special focus on the 2019 COBIT updates.
In addition, Russel Nel, a privacy specialist and a certified trainer, will look at the practical implementation of data governance at the second workshop. He will focus on the practicalities of GDPR, POPIA and data governance best practices.
