Breaking news: ITIL 4 certification scheme released

Johannesburg, 08 Oct 2018

On 1 October 2018, Axelos announced the new ITIL 4 certification scheme at the Fusion2018 Service Management Conference.

All indications are that the foundation certification course will be released in Q1 of 2019.

Below is what this new certification scheme looks like:

The good news is that the ITIL V3 certifications will have a transition journey across to ITIL 4.

Some of the key highlights covered in the new ITIL 4 are:

* Considering the end-to-end life cycle over a fragmented life cycle;
* Presenting a holistic view rather than a process focus;
* Creating flexible value flow and moving away from operational silos; and
* Evolving to continual improvement versus major releases.

This alludes to the fact that ITIL 4 will include other best practices like lean, agile and DevOps, and consider the wider context of ITSM value streams.

Pink Elephant South Africa is gearing up for ITIL 4 and will be hosting an information session on Friday 19 October 2018.
